I've been wanting to break out the slow cooker for a long time now, but haven't because unfortunately, it isn't slow enough. If I put it on before work, it would end up running about 10 hours before I get home, and that's apparently a big food safety no no.
I finally got the chance this week when Dan decided to work from home due to a massive storm and laryngitis. I left him with directions, and viola! Dinner.
This was super simple, and came out really tasty.
2 packages bone-in chicken thighs
1 bottle BBQ Sauce (we used Sweet Baby Rays)
1/2 cup Italian salad dressing (store brand)
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1.Place chicken in a slow cooker. In a bowl, mix the barbecue sauce, Italian salad dressing, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour over the chicken.
2.Cover, and 6 to 8 hours on Low.
Dan put it on around 11, and at 6 I pulled the chicken out, took it off the bones, shredded it, and dumped it back in the sauce to simmer for another half hour.
Max Couldn't wait for it to be done.
